Sedona Engagement Session

Nora & I started daydreaming & planning for her elopement photos years ago when we were working together as nurses in Central PA. We would carpool to & from work together, & during those drives we would talk about all of our hopes & dreams, including her one day elopement in the wild. Fast forward a few years & Nora & I are planning for her real life wedding to her fiancé Forrest.

When Nora & Forrest asked me to be their elopement photographer, I was absolutely elated. This would be my very first elopement as a photographer, something that I have been dreaming of doing for a long time now. Then I got a spontaneous text from Nora asking if I would do an engagement adventure session in Sedona, a couple weeks before the elopement in Phoenix. I may have screamed with excitement when she asked me this - an adventure session in Sedona!? SWOON.

We met before the engagement session at my favorite Sedona foodie spot, Sedona Beer Co. We shared lunch together in the sun & enjoyed the incredible views of the red rocks in the distance. After some grub & beers, we trekked over to the Boynton Canyon Trail & took the short hike to the perfect destination I had scoped out a couple weeks prior. Once at the top, Forrest & Nora shot-gunned a beer together & we got to making some photo magic amidst the red-rock spires. We watched the sun set over the valley & Nora even brought along the cutest vintage desert cactus themed jacket to fit the mood. We hiked back down to the trailhead together, making plans & getting excited for the elopement coming up in a couple weeks before we drove our separate ways under a neon desert moon.
