Get to know Jo

My Photography Story…

I started my photography business back in 2011 as a way to raise money for frequent service trips to Haiti, but my love for photography started in middle school when I first started photographing nature around me. This turned into eventually taking photos of friends, then friends of friends, until I had enough experience to create my own small business. Now my favorite kind of work is geared towards elopements, adventure sessions, & intimate lifestyle photography. My ultimate dream is to photograph all over the world, telling the stories of inspiring people through pictures. Every person I have met & have had in front of my camera has shaped me in some way, & I hope to create a space with my photography that enables people to feel free & known & loved. Sharing my experiences & travels has also recently become a passion of mine, so I have started to create travel guides & recommendations based on places I have been so that others can enjoy these experiences as well!

About Me…

The people I love know me as Jo, the go-getter. I tend to say “yes” much more often than “no” & sometimes this quality gets the best of me. But mostly it invigorates me. I aim to live my life to the absolute fullest, spending time with those that I love & doing things I enjoy, preferably out in nature. I am an extreme hobbyist, there is ALWAYS something to do & things to learn. Some examples are camping, traveling, field hockey, volleyball, hammocking, reading, paddle boarding, water color, disc-golfing, running, rock-climbing, hiking, game nights, picnicking, biking, gardening…just to name a few. I care a heck of a lot about the environment & I love supporting local - give me all the coffee shops, farmers markets, libraries, & eclectic restaurants! Being an aunt to my five nephews is one of the most special gifts this life has given me. My greatest joy is found in relationships & I try my best to love others like Jesus would every day.
